Closing the Birth Ceremony

Closing the birth ceremony (traditionally known as, Closing of the Bones) is typically facilitated after 40 days postpartum with the purpose of closing cycles, energetic fields and returning heat back to the body. 

Along with the physical benefits this is a very spiritual ritual. A time when the mother can process everything they are feeling and thinking, heal emotionally and gain strength. It helps the mother find closure to their birth story.

In Mayan Culture it is said that during labour the Mother’s spirit is traveling in the universe to find and collect her baby’s soul and then birth together. During a Closing of the Birth Ceremony the spirit is called back to the body and close energetically. 

Birth is a rite of passage and a deep transformational journey that continues into motherhood. 

Closing of the Birth can been done within the first year postpartum or many years after the birth itself, with the same amazing results. This ceremony is deeply healing after the loss of a baby, a hysterectomy, or where fertility problems present themselves.
